Lessons

Where do lessons happen?

Dinosaur Swim Club is mobile. Lessons happen at your backyard pool, or at a community or apartment pool when you have expressed permission from management or your HOA.

How long is each lesson?

Every lesson is one hour. That gives the coach enough time for warm-up, focused skill work, practice, and a quick recap.

What ages do you teach?

2 to 200 million. That is a dino joke, because we are hilarious. But seriously, we work with toddlers, teens, and adult beginners. Coaches adapt lessons to each swimmer's age, ability, confidence, and goals.

Do you offer a swim guarantee?

No, and that is intentional. Some programs promise swimming in a set number of lessons, but define success very narrowly. We do not force kids underwater or rush skills just to claim a guarantee. Our approach is swim lessons, evolved: we meet swimmers at their level, build real water safety first, and use skilled coaching to challenge them forward at the right time.

Do coaches bring equipment?

Each coach has their own teaching style and setup, so equipment varies. It is helpful to have a pool noodle, kickboard, and diving toys nearby if you have them. Your coach can tell you what they plan to bring when final scheduling is confirmed.

Booking

Do I pay when I book?

After you submit the booking form, a $100 deposit request is sent by email within 24 hours. The remaining balance is due before the first scheduled lesson.

Is the deposit refundable?

If you are not matched with a coach within 30 days, the $100 deposit is refundable upon request. We will keep working to match you unless you ask for the refund. Once matched and scheduled, the deposit applies toward your lesson or package.

I cannot afford the full price right now. Can I still start?

Yes. We understand that a payment plan or custom package is sometimes what makes lessons possible. Contact us directly and we will work with you to find an option that fits your budget and helps your swimmer get started.

What areas do you serve?

Coach availability varies, but we serve many Dallas-area neighborhoods including North Dallas, University Park, Highland Park, Lake Highlands, White Rock, Garland, Richardson, Rockwall, Rowlett, Plano, McKinney, Carrollton, Addison, Grapevine, Roanoke, Southlake, and Keller.

How soon can we start?

It depends on coach availability and your schedule, but in most cases we can get families matched and started within one to two weeks.

Families

What should swimmers bring?

Bring sunscreen, a towel, goggles, and a favorite pool toy or bath toy to show the coach. After matching, your coach may suggest anything else that would help your swimmer.

Can siblings share a lesson?

Yes. You can split a one-hour lesson into two 30-minute lessons at no extra cost. Up to four kids may share a one-hour session, with no more than two swimmers in the water at a time with one coach. Some families also prefer two swimmers switching off for the full hour. Your coach can help choose the best setup for your swimmers' skills and needs.

Do you offer group lessons?

Yes, with the same shared-lesson rules. Up to four swimmers may share one hour, with no more than two in the water at a time with one coach. Multiple families can share a session as long as Dinosaur Swim Club knows ahead of time and every family completes the required release paperwork.

Do you have a referral program?

Yes. Current Dinosaur Swim Club families can earn a free lesson when they refer a friend who books and begins active lessons.

Safety

Can I stay poolside during my child's lesson?

Absolutely. Parents are always welcome to watch lessons, and many like to stay close by. Some swimmers focus better when parents are a little out of sight, so your coach may suggest stepping back occasionally. If you stay nearby but not poolside, please remain close enough to see or hear your child and be ready to assist if needed.

Are your coaches certified?

Yes. Every Dinosaur Swim Club coach is CPR/AED certified, background checked, and has coaching experience with kids.

What happens in bad weather?

If there is a storm warning, or lightning has been reported within 20 miles of an outdoor lesson, the lesson will be rescheduled for safety.

What is Party Guard?

Party Guard is pool party support from a swim coach for $50 per hour with a two-hour minimum. The coach helps monitor pool activity and support safer swimming. This service is not lifeguarding, and swim coaches are not lifeguards.
